Article 8 of the Covenant of Faith
We recognize that each person is created in the image of God, and will seek equality, justice, freedom and human rights for all peoples. By the fellowship of love which bridges class, racial, sexual, and cultural differences, we will demonstrate the oneness of the body of Christ with the diversity of its parts.
We at Pasadena Mennonite Church value the gifts and leadership of the laity, who along with the pastoral staff do the work of the church. It is our belief that we are called to be priests to one another by offering our time and talent for the following ministries:
- Worship – Biblical scripture and liturgical themes are enhanced by artists, musicians and thespians
- Prayer – the concerns and needs of the people, the denomination and the world brought before God both during worship and the week
- Spiritual Formation – teachers nurture the spiritual development of children and youth in the ways of Jesus Christ
- Mission/Salt & Light – advocates of peace and justice work on behalf of the disenfranchised and the poor
- Congregational Life – hospitality and care provided by and to the community during times of transition, celebration and illness
- Community Groups – small groups meeting regularly for support, fun, service and study
